Expansive high school curricula for investigating biology and chemistry. The Logal High School Gateways Series uses interactive computer simulations to teach and reinforce science principles and provide a strong science foundation. These activities and integrated lesson plans develop critical thinking, scientific processing, and problem-solving skills within the context of specific concepts.
Students conduct virtual experiments, manipulate variables, and instantly see the results and repeat an experiment as needed to reinforce learning. Each activity allows students to gather and analyze data. The data analysis is then tied to the concept, providing an excellent way to relate math with science.
Gateways Biology includes 6 units: DNA, RNA, and Proteins; Understanding Photosynthesis, Principles of Genetics; Exploring Populations; The Human Circulatory System; and The Human Respiratory System.
Gateways Chemistry includes 6 units: Structure of the Atom, Exploring the Gas Laws, Reaction Rates & Chemical Kinetics, Understanding Chemical Equilibrium, Principles of Electrochemistry, and Chemistry Toolbox.
